Robin Phoenix Whitehouse (2000)
is a British artist, born and raised in Cornwall, he lives and works in The Hague NL. He obtained a BFA from the Royal Academy of Art The Hague in 2023.
Robin’s practice is informed by his daily environment. His projects are durational, often unfolding over multiple years and rooted within specific contexts—public space, relations, art history, and archaeological discourse. Rather than working within the studio, his process involves direct interaction with a place or audience, whether through meetings, happenings, or facilitating. The story and process are the prominent aspects of the work, the art stands decentrally and the context determines the art experience.
Through a sensitivity to classical art and an urge to address his surroundings, his works are shaped. He is drawn to the biography of objects and how social interactions around them shape stories, appreciating works that can be described in a single sentence.
